Education and Rural Development is an international publication hosted by the UNESCO International Research and Training Center for Rural Education (INRULED), published in Chinese and English in the form of collected papers. The collection focuses on the five thematic priorities of the INRULED, namely, Gender Equality and Women Leadership, ICT in Education for Rural Development, Quality Teachers for Rural Schools, Skills Development for Rural Transformation, and Education for Social Transformation in Rural Areas. The collection welcomes thinking pieces of policy reviews, theoretical reflections, research and investigation findings, and innovative practices. The publication aims to create a dialogue and exchange platform for policymakers, researchers, and practitioners to share the latest findings and reflections on theories and practices in education and rural development, so as to advance knowledge production and international cooperation in this field.
In June 2022, the first volume in Chinese was launched and published by Social Sciences Academic Press. The editor-in-chief is Prof. Zhu Xudong, Dean of Faculty of Education, Beijing Normal University and the executive directors are Prof. Zeng Xiaodong and Prof. Li Xingzhou. The publication is selected into the 2022 AMI comprehensive evaluation of Chinese humanities and social sciences academic journals. In 2023, INRULED proposes to launch the publication of the second volume of the Chinese version and the first volume of the English version.
