National and international rural teacher investigation fund

UNESCO International Research and Training Centre for Rural Education (hereinafter referred to as INRULED) is an international organization jointly established by the Chinese government and UNESCO to conduct specialized research, training, information dissemination and network connection in the field of “education for rural development”. Increasing the supply of trained and qualified teachers in rural schools is an international pressing problem faced by many countries, particularly in the global south. In order to promote international cooperation and encourage more people get involved in rural development research, INRULED provides this fund opportunity, call for research proposals that focusing on rural teachers. The fund details and requirements are stated below.

 

 

Project requirements:

- Projects must demonstrate alignment with INRULED’s development goals and research priorities. (see our website https://inruled.bnu.edu.cn)

- Projects must demonstrate contribution to knowledge, education practice, policy or theory in rural development area, particularly related with rural teachers.

 

Proposal requirements:

Potential for impact on rural teacher/rural development.

Applicability of research to others in similar educational setting/sector.

Research quality, including rigour, transparency and validity,and conforms with ethical guidelines.

(Potential) impact for policy-makers, practitioners and other research users.

Applications must also include a detailed budget of how the funds will be spent.

 

Expected outcomes of the project:

A report or possible published journal paper.

An international seminar or symposium to present and share the research findings, promote international discussion and cooperation.

A short post project evaluation detailing proceedings from the project. (i.e. events, studies, meetings)

 

Timeline each year

Project proposals are being accepted on an annual basis, see timeline below:

1st March – deadline for submissions.

1st June – final awards made and research to commence.

1st October – progress update provided to INRULED.

1st December – final report submitted to INRULED.

INRULED reserves the right not to award the fund if insufficient quality proposals are submitted.

A proposal (no less than 1500 words) emailed to Tongtong.zhao@hotmail.com detailing how the project will be conducted before the deadline, containing budget planning and staffing.
