INRULED Participates in Capacity-Building Workshop on AI and Digital Transformation in Education for ASEAN TVET Teachers and Educators

From March 23 to 26, 2025, Dr. Qi Xinjian, Assistant Director of the UNESCO International Research and Training Centre for Rural Education (INRULED), and Wu Yunfei, Programme Coordinator, participated in the Capacity-Building Workshop on AI and Digital Transformation in Education for ASEAN TVET Teachers and Educators held at Cheju Halla University (CHU) in Jeju, the Republic of Korea. The workshop was jointly organized by CHU and the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) Regional Centre for Technical Education Development (TED), with the goal of enhancing the capacity of TVET teachers and educators to effectively integrate artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technologies into education.

The training session attracted more than 30 TVET teachers, educators, and school administrators from 10 countries in Korea, China, and Southeast Asia. Through lectures, best practice sharing, and campus visits, the workshop provided participants with an in-depth understanding of emerging digital transformation technologies and innovative teaching methodologies. Cheju Halla University, recognized for its excellence in AI and education, contributed valuable academic resources and practical insights. During the workshop, participants visited the Digital Media Art Museum of CHU, the practice ranch of the Horse Science Department, and the CHU Marine Leisure Sports Center to gain insight into Korea’s successful experiences in the integration of digital technologies in education.

INRULED team held discussions with Dr. Songheang Ai, Director of SEAMEO TED, and his team, along with Dr. Sung-Hun Kim, President of Cheju Halla University, and Dr. Wui-Kyung Shin, Vice President for International Affairs, to explore further collaboration opportunities. INRULED remains committed to enhancing the digital competencies of vocational education teachers, supporting developing countries in building a skilled workforce for future markets, fostering deeper cooperation in vocational education and skills development, and driving sustainable rural development.
