INRULED programme coordinator Dr. Chi Jin and Dr. Zeng Haijun took part in eLearning in Africa (eLA) 2013 in Windhoek, Namibia from 29 May to 31, 2013. Scholars of e-learning in China started to attend eLA from last year. It is the largest gathering of eLearning and ICT-supported education and training professionals in Africa.
Dr. Chi gave a speech of “New media and women’s leadership: Pilot and Practices in China” on eLA 2013. Dr. Zeng presented “E-learning Public Service Systems (EPSS): Case from China” with Mr. Xia Weifeng, the Executive Editor-in-chief of the Journal Distance Education in China following the presentation of “ICT in Education for Rural Development in China” on eLA 2012.
During the conference, they also paid a visit to National Commission for UNESCO in Namibia as well as a primary school, a secondary school, a teacher training institution and University of Namibia.
During their visit to University of South Africa, they were invited to lecture on “Girls’ and Women’s Education and Leadership: Innovations in Chinese Contexts” and EPSS in the College of Education.
